Cost of Fraxel laser treatment in Perth

The cost of Fraxel laser treatments varies significantly due to several factors. Treatment from a practitioner with extensive training will cost more because you are paying for their knowledge and expertise. Even if cost is a significant consideration for you, keep in mind that Fraxel laser results are highly technique-dependent, and an untrained technician, although cheaper, could cause substantial damage to your skin that would be costly to repair. You may help prevent these risks and get the results you want by selecting a board-certified dermatologist, cosmetic surgeon, or other doctors with significant expertise in conducting laser resurfacing on individuals with skin similar to yours.

While every patient has unique needs, doctors frequently advise a series of Fraxel sessions (depending on your concerns and the type of Fraxel laser utilised) for the best outcomes. This is another consideration in the cost.

The face, neck, decolletage, and hands are the most often treated locations, but Fraxel can be used in any area where you want significant skin renewal. You should anticipate paying more for Fraxel to target ageing on the face, neck, and chest than you would for age spots on the back of your hands, as treating numerous regions or one large area takes longer for your doctor.

  • Allow your skin to heal, and DO NOT scrub, rub, or use exfoliants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Fraxel laser treatments?

With laser resurfacing, small layers of skin are removed from your face or a specific area, such as the undereye area, to decrease imperfections and enhance its appearance. There have traditionally been two types of lasers: ablative and non-ablative.

The non-ablative laser is the gentler of the two options. They generate heat in your skin’s deeper layers while leaving the top layer intact, allowing for speedy healing and minimal downtime. By promoting the growth of collagen elastin beneath the skin’s surface, this non-invasive procedure revitalises your skin and restores its firmness and tone.

Ablative lasers vaporise the epidermis layer of your skin. This tougher treatment takes longer to heal, has more pronounced side effects, and requires more downtime, but it can produce more significant and dramatic results.

As their name implies, fractional lasers cause minimal damage to your skin by creating minute channels. This minimally invasive procedure encourages collagen formation while leaving behind healthy cells. As a result, there is less downtime, less risk, and faster recovery than with conventional lasers.

What does the treatment involve?

Fraxel Laser treatments involve penetrating deep into the dermal layer to stimulate new collagen. Because it is a deep treatment, we numb your skin up to an hour before treatment. Once numb, the Fraxel is rolled over the skin. It looks like a bright red light. The treatment time usually is around 15-30 minutes.

Who should get Fraxel laser treatments?

You may want to consider Fraxel laser treatments if your skin concerns are caused by ageing, excessive sun exposure, or acne and cannot be resolved with regular skincare products.

One or more of the skin issues listed below can be treated with laser skin resurfacing:

  • Scars
  • Acne scars
  • Age and sun spots
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Sagging skin

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects include swelling and redness, which subsides after a few days. Temporary side effects can include minor itching, dry skin, peeling and flaking. Reduce these side effects post-treatments with LED Healite treatments.

How long will it take to see results after the treatment?

Fraxel results are both immediate and progressive. It’s possible to see an improvement in the area within a few days of treatment as the skin starts to heal. Over the next two to three months, you will continue to see improvements as the collagen regenerates during this time.

How long does the treatment last?

Results can last indefinitely, depending on the individual. Maintenance is recommended once or twice a year to keep the skin looking fresh.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime can range from three to five days for less aggressive treatment or seven to ten days for more aggressive treatment. Your skin may look pink and flaky as the pigment changes over two weeks.

Do Fraxel laser treatments hurt?

Your skin will be numbed for an hour or more before the treatment. Most patients experience a slight prickling sensation with non-ablative fractional lasers like Fraxel. However, with ablative lasers, you might experience increasing heat and pain. If required, use cold compresses and over-the-counter medication to ease the pain.
